Even The Italian Food Connoisseur Likes This One!

A-Tooch has been talking a lot about Italian food lately, eh? Notice a theme? Oh yes, this is because she is Italian and loves Italian food. Needless to say, it’s very rare to find a reasonably priced, delicious Italian restaurant in NYC that meets certain standards. Even Little Italy can’t compare when you’ve been eating Italian family cooking your whole life.

Behold! Za Za in the UES. (Link to the Yelp page, with reviews that sum up the experience pretty exactly.) Boyfriend stuck with a traditional pasta dish while I ventured out on a limb and after hearing the specials, selected the spinach ravioli. IMO you can really judge a restaurant by its homemade ravioli. WOW. This dish was incredible. So much so that I won’t ruin the image with my poor food photography.

Other items on the menu included the usual bruschetta and calamari, osso buco special which everyone seemed to be ordering, and $10 desserts (we did not try these…) You may want to pay this place a visit soon to take advantage of the awesome patio garden out back that seats around 40. It’s starting to get cold!
