Check in with how A-Tooch and Miss Yunks each spent their Halloween this year!
We’re probably too old to go trick-or-treating, and we’re definitely not in college anymore. But, we’re not too old to dress up for Halloween!
Miss Yunks tries to be very creative with her costumes and do things that haven’t been done. Last year, she was a cupcake.
I couldn’t find the perfect pink dress in any store so I made it myself. I purchased pink fabric at Jo-Ann Fabrics and hand-sewed this dress. The bottom is covered with tin foil cupcake liners to look like one big cupcake liner; the top is decorated with real sprinkles, and a ‘frosting’ boa lines the top hem. A cherry on top completes the look. I spent several hours during October 2009 on this costume and this year I knew I wanted something simple. I loved my cupcake costume. Partly because I love cupcakes, partly because I made it all myself, and partly because I’d never seen anyone dressed as a cupcake. The effort that went into this was well worth it.
This year, I didn’t decide on my costume until the last week of October when my original idea didn’t work out. I turned to my back-up idea, which was one idea I had considered last year. Instead of being the cupcake, I would be the chef of sorts who makes the cupcake – I would be the Pillsbury Doughboy. Or Dough Girl.
And BestFriend was an M&M – another great foodie costume! Thanks to J for the authentic chef hat, or toke!
How was your Halloween weekend? Did you dress up?

A-Tooch baked some festive treats to (consume half of and then) bring to the Halloween party she attended. Did you know Funfetti comes in Halloween colors?!
Whipping up some orange frosting, obvi
