In her ripe old age, A-Tooch has learned the value of giving a good present — making sure you can share in the wealth.
My dad, J-Tooch, had been wanting to visit Eataly since it opened about a year ago. He kept bringing the idea up on Friday nights or Saturday days. I refused. I know what insane NYC crowds are like at these popular times and what very low patience both my father and I share. When Father’s Day came up last month, I snagged us two tickets to a private “Dine around” event at Eataly. If we were going to do this place, we were going to do it right.
We started with a nice large glass of prosecco, of course. Then, we made three stops at each of the dining spots in Eataly — Il Pesce, Le Verdure, and La Pizza La Pasta. We had our choice of any menu item along with a wine pairing at each spot. Needless to say I was more than full after all of this.
At Le Verdure I had this awesome salad — Portobello con Pesche – grilled portobello with local peaches, mache and balsamic
But not too full for a Lavazza coffee and gelato — I got the Fiordelatte (Sweet Milk) flavor. It was rich and creamy with a very plain, but not bland flavor. Almost like a dollop of whipped cream!
I’m so happy I made it to Eataly — the place really is outstanding (and, er so are the prices at the market). J-Tooch had a fun time going back to his heritage and sampling some native ingredients and I, well I was just happy to be along for the culinary ride.

Thanks!
It was a very special event for me, particularly to be escorted by my very
special daughter!
I recently stopped into Eataly during my last trip to NYC — a foodie’s heaven! Looks like you and Dad had a great time.
I want to go to NYC for the sole purpose of eating there.
Love this!
