Wedding Recap

How do I recap 7 months of planning in 1 blog post?  I will just share some details and let the photos speak for themselves!

I got married at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Boston.  I honestly hadn’t thought much about my wedding until I got engaged.  But once I got engaged, I started planning very quickly.  I knew I wanted to get married in a hotel because I liked the idea of getting ready in a hotel room and not having to travel anywhere for the wedding.  When I saw the suites at the Mandarin and the outdoor space adjacent to the Prudential Center I was sold.  I could get ready in a giant suite, have the ceremony in a courtyard of a mall, and have the reception in a beautiful ballroom.  It was a perfect package for me.  And when we sat down to pick the menu and truffled mac and cheese was an option, I knew I made the right choice.  I chose some of my favorite foods to serve at cocktail hour including the truffled mac and cheese and veggie lo mein.  We had a little Chinese food station to play up the theme of the Mandarin!  We also had a comfort food station with mini grilled cheese, tomato soup, and the mac and cheese.  We also had plenty of passed appetizers.  I actually didn’t even notice anything at my cocktail hour so I was really excited to see my photographer’s photos!  I don’t have professional photos of our entree choices, just some photos from our tasting a few months ago that I never uploaded.  The vegetarian option was ricotta gnocchi with mushrooms and brussels sprouts and it was so delicious!  The other options were salmon or filet mignon served with seasonal vegetables.  All of the food was restaurant quality, tasted amazing, and was artfully presented.  Being such a dessert lover, I needed dessert to be a big part my wedding.  We got our cake from a bakery and the cake tasting was one of my favorite days of planning.  We chose two flavors for the big cake, alternating layers of cannoli cake and chocolate with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries.  We also had a mini dessert display when the cake was served.  I loved all of the food at my wedding!  And the rest of the day went mostly smoothly too!  Here is a big summary of the day.  If you like what you see and are planning a wedding, I am happy to share any vendor information with you!

You look absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the adorable cake topper, too. And I’m with you on having a wedding at a hotel – so much easier. 😉 Congrats again!!
